Sorry for my short absence there, folks, but I was in the middle of exams. Anyhow,
so here is an update on the Afghan Christian convert, who, I think has pulled a Machiavellian move on
the rest of the world, but especially on Hamid Karzai, and is enjoying every minute of it. Admittedly, I'm quite amused by this whole fiasco as well.
Mr. Abdul Rahman, holding a translated version of the Bible in the picture, has actually managed to put the "newly-liberated" people of Afghanistan against the "liberators" from the West, also known as the Infidels to fundamentalist Muslims. In fact, the Pope is in on this too now. Pope Benedikt XVI., or 'Joseph the Gay-Converter' as they used to call him in the Hitler Youth back in the days, "has sent a message to Karzai asking that the case be dropped, citing respect for religious freedom..."...
All right, Joe, sure thing, buddy. You are asking Karzai, who leads a country of Muslims, and many many ignorant Muslim clerics and imams, to listen to the head of the Catholic church, who, as you know, Joe, is the most supremely of all C H R I S T I A N S......
As for me, I think this whole ordeal just shows the superficial extent of the forced democratization of Afghanistan. It should be quite clear now, if it wasn't clear before, that you cannot walk into a Muslim society these days and force them to become a democracy over night. They, meaning hardcore Muslim societies (which, of course, does not include the Turkish one), still have not woken up from their dream of ruling the world by Sharia Law, covering their women, and referring to the Qu'ran for which hand to use to scratch their derriers. You cannot possibly expect such a society to accept Abdul and his suicidal crazy bad self.
I feel really sorry for Hamid Karzai in the process of this whole thing though. If he releases Abdul, who most likely would be killed by the people on the streets anyway, the Afghani people would call for the resignation of Karzai while the clerics would want him killed as well, which just might happen. If Karzai allows the persecution of Rahman then he would probably be taken out of the circle of friendship that is the West, and, hence, lose the financial support that keeps him in office. Either way, it seems to me, Karzai's days are counted. ....
But then again, behold, I propose the American solution to the problem. Why doesn't Rahman get kidnapped, with a wink from Karzai, by the U.S. Armed Forces to the United States, then get a passport, tought english in a day, given a best-selling book deal, made a rebellious convert hero in a Hollywood movie (maybe called "The Passion of the Infidel"), and recommended to the Pope to be canonized as the new patron of endangered Christian converts Saint Abdul, the Merciful, the Compassionate, and The Lucky Bastard?.......... Any thoughts on what the book/movie should be called?....
