Aya tagged me and apparently there are some rules to this:
1. You grab the nearest book to you,
2. Go to page 123, and find the fifth sentence,
3. Then you post the next 3 sentences on your blog,
4. You also name the author of the book,
5. Lastly, you tag three other people and ask them to do the same thing.
So, here are those three sentences:
"it belongs in the realm of natural science, where it can be precisely defined and measured. When the word 'power' is applied to human affairs, it is used metaphorically and its various facets cannot be reduced to a common denominator. A Nobel Prizewinning scientist can be knocked down by an illiterate thug; a powerful dictator can be exploited by a quack or turn into putty in the hands of his wife or mistress."
The book is by George Soros and is called "The Age of Fallibility: Consequences of the War on Terror." Now, I haven't actually read this book yet but it's a signed copy. I went to his book signing at Union Square a couple of weeks ago.
