What's up, people? Yes, I am back, yet again. This time though I might stick around for a bit more before I decide to go into hibernation....
Yes, I have moved to the great city of New York. It was one hell of a move and one hell of a search for an apartment. After having spent a whopping $16,000 to rent a damn one-bedroom on the Upper West Side, I am as broke as one can possibly get. That's right, sixteen THOUSAND American dollars; brokers fees, six months rent in advance, and security deposit, not to mention the extra $2600 I have spent in hotels for two weeks. I think you get the point. I AM BROKE, DAMN IT!!!!!!!
On the upside, I have a very comfortable bed to sleep on, a working fridge to keep the drinking water cool (yes, that's beer), a damn floor lamp, and someone else's wireless internet....... Woop-Dee-Fucking-Doooooooo.......
I am depressed most of the time because there is too much concrete around me, I feel boxed in
somehow. "Luckily," I am very close to Central Park and Riverside Park and so can escape to greener pastures. The problem is everything else. How do people deal with this shit day in day out? Too much traffic, too much yelling and screaming. Shit happens so fast here, I'm not even sure if New Yorkers themselves even realize what's happening around them. The other day, a woman standing right in front me got hit by a cab driver in the middle of the street on broad daylight and people took 3 seconds from talking on the phone to stare at her, after which they realized that she wasn't bleeding and promptly filed her in the "Old-News" bin. What a city, I tell you......
Another good thing is that there is a lot to do here. From museums to comedy clubs, from Broadway to Letterman, there never seems to be a lack of things to do. I kind of like that but must wait to make some money.......Damn it!!!...
